Coaching Education

Coaches are essential to the development of athletes at all levels of Athletics competition. All coaching training and certification are administered by the Coaching Association of Canada through the NCCP Model in association with Athletics Canada. This page provides new and current coaches with the resources required to acquire the skills and knowledge they need to coach at their desired level.

Coaching Pathways

Athletics Canada have developed a Coach Development Model for coaches at various levels to achieve certification at their desired level, found below.

For more information on each course and to register for evaluation, please visit the Athletics Canada website on NCCP Certification: National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) - Athletics Canada

All coaches must be registered through AthleticsReg where they will be asked to provide a Criminal Record Check and to complete the NCCP Safe Sport module. This registration must be renewed every year.

All coaches must have completed the NCCP Making Ethical Decisions Course, found here: NCCP Making Ethical Decisions Course
